Our Fall Magazine Fundraiser proves to be a great endeavor! The money raised supports programs and activities that benefit our students through QSP-Reader's Digest. REMEMBER, the success of the program will depend upon your participation. This annual fundraiser begins shortly after the school year starts. If you have subscriptions that need to be renewed, or would like to subscribe to a new magazine . . . Please SAVE your orders for our fundraiser. Plan to give magazine subscriptions as gifts next year. Let your friends and relatives know about our fundraiser and ask them to save their subscriptions for our program as well. Renewal orders will simply extend current subscriptions, unless the renewal(s) has expired. Contact the school office (330.274.2268 or schooloffice@stjosephmantua.com) for more information. Scholastic Book Fairs
To help subsidize ongoing school expenses, we hold Book Fairs in the Fall and Spring. Look for plenty of good reading materials and gifts.

Inkjet Recycling Program
inkjet cartridgeOur school is asking for your support and participation in our fundraising recycling program. It is estimated that over 1,000,000 empty inkjet cartridges end up in our land fills every single day. The plastic used in a typical cartridge is industrial-grade and takes at least 10 centuries to decompose. If you use an inkjet printer at home or at work, please remember to place your empty inkjet cartridge in a zip-lock bag to be turned in at our school. With your help our school can generate the money that is very much needed. Please encourage family, friends and neighbors to participate in our school recycling program. A collection box may be found in the school hallway.
We will also be collecting unwanted cell phones. Please place them in the same box as the inkjet cartridges.

Aluminum Can Recycling
SJS observes Earth Day with an aluminum can recycling contest held each fall and spring.

Send A Child To School
An ongoing project using Pennies from Heaven & Making a World of Difference is to support a student and pay for him to go to school during this coming year. Our student's name is Omar Alexander Aveiar Lopez. When Fr. Tom McCarthy visited El Salvador in the Winter of 2003, he promised to find out how SJS could connect with a parish or some of the children. As part of our awareness of the Corporal & Spiritual Works of Mercy, the school has taken on this project.

Math-A-Thon
St. Jude's Hospital benefits as students sharpen their math skills. Watch for details on how you can sponsor a student.

Read-A-Thon
Muscular Dystrophy Association benefits while students show their love of reading. Watch for details on how you can sponsor a student.

Sock, Glove, Mitten & Hat Tree
Our parish's annual Giving Tree that helps needy families in Portage County at Christmastime is "transformed" into our Socks, Gloves, Mittens, Scarves & Hat Tree. Area needy children and adults receive much needed items through this Catholic Charities of Portage County project.
