Pull - Geauga County Antique Tractor Pullers Rules
Open to Non-Members
All Are Welcome
1.
All decisions of the judges are final. G.C.A.T.P.A. is not responsible
for accidents. All contestants and tractor owners will enter the
contest at their own property and personal liability risk. Any problems
or complaints not covered by G.C.A.T.P.A. rules and the ones that
are will be settled by a majority vote of officers and directors
present at any pull.
2.
No alcohol in the pit area. No unsportsmanlike conduct. Pulling
tractors must be operated in a safe manner at all times within the
confines of the track, pits, or staging areas. Judges have the right
to stop and disqualify for any violation. Disqualification means
no refunds or prizes awarded.
3.
All pulls will be made under a green flag. A red flag will be a
stop.
4.
All pulls must start with a tight chain. No jerking.
5.
Tractors must stay in bounds at all times during pull attempt or
will be disqualified for that attempt only. The sled may go out
of bounds.
6.
There will be no floating finish line. Full pulls will be decided
by a pull off.
7. Only one driver per tractor per class.
8.
Factory fuels only.
9.
Excessive leaking of fluids is cause for disqualification.
10.
Any front end exceeding 24" lift will be disqualified for that
attempt.
11.
Rear weights are not to extend rearward more than 6" past the
furthest part of the rear tire. Front weights may not be more than
11 ft. forward from the center of the rear axle.
12.
Any weights, tractor parts, or tractor hardware that falls off while
the tractor is hooked to the sled will be disqualified for that
pull attempt.
13.
Any driver under 18 years old must have written consent from a parent
or guardian with supervision present.
14.
If on the first pull the sled fails to pass the 75' mark, one restart
will be allowed. The first puller of each class does not have the
option to re-pull.
15.
Tractors must weight out and have R.P.M.s checked after each pull.
All tractors are subject to judges' inspection.
16.
Only track officials, drivers and supervising adult are allowed
on the track during any pull attempt.
17.
All Open Class tractors must have fundamental wheelie bars. Stock
Class tractors will be allowed without wheelie bars but will be
disqualified for that attempt if front end exceeds 24".
18.
Shifting of T/As are allowed.
19.
No pulling hitches; no wheelie bars; no cut tires, no radials, must
be AG style on front (tri rib); no aluminum rims; no weld on hubs.
20.
Factory hitch in factory position, _____" height; factory air
cleaner, must be hooked up; must have PTO, fenders.
21. If it's
not in the parts book, you can't use it. Exceptions: May use straight
pipe, alternator, distributor, after market seat on factory mount.
22. 18.4"
max tire; front end lift over 24" is end of pull; stock rpm's
(____% margin of error).

STOCK
CLASSES
Antique 1957 & Under
1.
No cut or groomed tires are allowed. No radial tires. Tire size
limited to maximum 18.4. Steel wheels will be allowed. No dual wheels,
caterpillar tracks, or chains. 42" diameter tires will be allowed
if proof is shown they were original equipment or an option for
that model of tractor.
2.
R.P.M.s must be within 20% of manufacturers recommended high idle
speed.
3.
First or second gear pulling only.
4.
Hitch height is 18" max. Center of axle to point of hook, measured
horizontally, is no less than 18". Tractor must be equipped
with a plate with a 3" hole or clevis to pull from the draw
bar or draw bar assembly. Rigid in all directions with no hook restrictions
at hitching point.
5.
Tractors must have stock engine block, frame (no aluminum), transmission,
rear end, intake and exhaust manifolds, and carburetor or manufacturer's
replacement for that model of tractor. Tractors must have stock
fuel pumps or an option for that make and model of tractor. Hood
and grill must be in place and have stock appearance as intended
by the manufacturer.
6.
Tractors pulling in stock classes cannot pull in open classes.
OPEN CLASSES
Antique 1957 & Under
1.
No radial tires. No dual wheels, caterpillar tracks, or chains.
No tire size limit. Cut tires will be allowed.
2.
Hitch height is 20" max. Center of axle to point of hook, measured
horizontally is no less than 18". Tractor must be equipped
with a plate with a 3" hole or clevis to pull from draw bar
or draw bar assembly. Rigid in all directions with no hook restrictions
at hitching point.
3.
R.P.M.s must be within 20% of manufacturer's recommended high idle
speed.
4.
Aluminum wheels and weight brackets are allowed.
5.
Tractors must have stock engine block, frame (no aluminum), transmission,
and rear end or manufacturer's replacement for that model of tractor.
Heads must match make and model. No homemade intake or exhaust manifolds
allowed. Stock manifolds from same manufacturer are allowed. Manifold
intake neck or throat where carburetor bolts on must not be changed.
An agricultural carburetor is allowed. Number of barrels, throats,
venturies, etc., must be that of manufacturer for that make and
model of tractor. Tractors must have stock fuel pumps and stock
turbo or a manufacturer's replacement. All turbos must have been
stock equipment on that model of tractor engine. Hood and grill
must be in place and have stock appearance as intended by the manufacturer.
6.
Tractors pulling in open classes cannot pull in stock classes.

ANTIQUE
V8 RULES
1.
Enter class at own risk.
2.
Tractors must be 1957 or older.
3.
Frame must be stock, no extensions, stock appearing wheel base.
4.
Front ends may be homemade but must retain stock appearing wheel
base.
5.
Hood and grill must be in place and have stock appearance as intended
by the manufacturer.
6.
Small block limited to 410 C.I.D. and 5500 RPM. Big block class
limits 505 C.I.D. And 5000 RPM. Inline 6 cyl.& v8 engines are
allowed, maximum of 8 cylinders. No turbines or diesels allowed.
Must be naturally aspirated, no turbochargers or supercharger.
7.
Gasoline only, no alcohol. Racing gasoline is allowed. No other
additional fuels allowed.
8.
All engines must have a working air cleaner.
9.
Engines to be governed by a M.S.D. rev limiter, no extra plugs permitted
at chip location. Chip must be easily accessible for the insertion
of a club chip at the discretion of the tech officials.
10.
One single carburetor, limit of 4 batteries, no fuel injection allowed.
11.
Must use cast iron block and heads.
12.
Auxiliary transmissions allowed. No automatic transmissions allowed.
13. Maximum tire size 18.4 x 38, any cut allowed, no radials.
14.
All kill switches must kill power to electric fuel pump if tractor
is equipped with one.
15.
Maximum hitch height 20 inches minimum 18 inches from center of
rear axle to hitch point. Hitch must have 3" hole ¾"
thickness and ¾" of material from rear of hitch point
to rear of drawbars. No clevis.
16.
Clutch and flywheel must be shielded 360 degrees by ½"
steel A.S.F.I. approved bellhousing, or a safety blanket. Any driveshaft
couplers or U-Joints must be shielded.
17. Engines must have plastic or electric cooling fans.
18.
Must have a deadman throttle, if throttle is released engine must
return to idle.
19.
Fire extinguishers mandatory. Helmets, seatbelts, and rollbars recommended.
20.
All exhaust must exit vertically at least 1 foot above hood.
21.
Drivers must be 18 years of age. Under 18 years of age but over
16 years of age requires written parent or guardian permission,
parents or guardian presence at the track, and board of directors'
approval required.
22.
Rear weights are not to extend rearward more than 6" past the
furthest part of the rear tire. Front weights cannot be more than
11" forward from the center of the rear axle.
23.
All tractors subject to inspections by the tech committee.
24.
All rules to be interpreted by the G.C.A.T.P.A. pulling committee.
Any unforeseen problems or oversights will be ruled on by the G.C.A.T.P.A.
officers in attendance with these rulings being final. All G.C.A.T.P.A.
general rules apply.
25.
Rules will be in effect for the pulling season with the exception
of safety rules to be changed as needed.
