TECHNOLOGY
COMMITTEE
Over
the Summer of 2003, the whole school building, Hughes Hall, and kitchen
were wired and networked with the Internet. There are currently 20
new computers installed in the computer lab. Grades K through five
now have one new computer and printer in each classroom. Grades six
through eight have a total of two per classroom.
In the Fall of 2005, the school principal and secretary had their
10 year old computers replaced with flat screen monitors and up-to-date
computers.
Plans for the 2006/2007 school year are to update and revise their
Technology Plan.
Meetings are held three times a year.

GRANT
COMMITTEE
Originally formed in March 2001, the committee
works hard to get moneys from a variety of sources in order to further
the level of learning of our students. From 2003-2006, the committee
has applied for eleven grants and received five.
A
huge thank you goes to the SJS Grant Committee and to the teachers
who use these resources and implement them for the students.

MARKETING
COMMITTEE
A committee to focus on specific marketing
techniques for St. Joseph School has been in existence for the past
three years. During the 2005/2006 school year the school profile was
revised and will be used as a primary marketing visual and bi-monthly
newspaper articles and photos. In 2006/2007 quotes from parents, teachers
and staff are being solicited to use as part of the marketing information.
Additional efforts to have more presence in the local newspapers are
also being made.

WELLNESS
COMMITTEE
St. Joseph School has developed their Wellness Policy as required
by the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004. The U.S.
Congress established a new requirement that all school districts with
a federally-funded school meals program develop and implement wellness
policies that address nutrition and physical activity by the start
of the 2006-2007 school year. The written policy is currently being
typed and will be forwarded to families as soon as possible.
