Four of our eighth grade students will be attending a Catholic high school and were invited to write an essay and obtain teacher recommendations. Congratulations to Andrew Kovalik & Jacob Pastor who were awarded this honor.

We also recognize students with Academic Achievement Awards. ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL REGISTRATION FOR 2008 - 2009
St. Joseph School continues egistration for the 2008-2009 school year with over a hundred students already registered. We still have openings at all grade levels. To register at SJS, please call or email the school office. Click here to view the Tuition Plan for the 2008-2009 school year.

HELP SEND A CHILD TO ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL
We have several families who have students enrolled at SJS but will not be able to return because of a loss of a job, sickness, or a temporary crisis in the family. Just a year or two ago these same families were financially helping other families who were having a hard time. If you are able, would you please consider making a one time, monthly, every-once-in-a-while donation to St. Joseph School? If you would like to sponsor a student, please talk with Beth Frank. If you are thinking about a donation to the SJS Trust Fund, you may want to consider a donation to the school because of the state of the economy at this time. Our Trust Fund's principle lost money during this past year. Please call or email Beth Frank at the school office for any further information.

HAVE YOU TRIED T.R.I.P.?
School families and anyone interested in supported SJS are encouraged to participate in T.R.I.P. (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program). Run throughout the school year, it is a program where you can order gift cards and certificates from many everyday stores and merchants and receive a percentage discount of money which is applied as a reduction to tuition bills. To participate simply complete a registration form and turn it into the school office. Complete an order form to order your certificates and turn in to St. Joseph School by Tuesday and pick up your gift certificates the following Wednesday. Don't have a student at SJS? Why not sponsor a student or family or have your T.R.I.P. monies go into the general school account. For more information, printable forms, and order dates, please visit our T.R.I.P. webpage, look for information at the school office or narthex or in the Family Packet, or contact our coordinator, Mary Corrigan (330-562-3213).
T.R.I.P. To Go Available after Masses (every other weekend) - Anyone may purchase gift cards and certificates that will be made available for immediate purchase. Proceeds will directly benefit St. Joseph School. Check bulletin for scheduled weekends.

WHERE DOES HOME & SCHOOL FUNDRAISER MONEY GO?
St. Joseph's Home & School Association is designed to provide support to the school and it's families. The parents of all students attending St. Joseph School are members of the Home & School Association. With the leadership of the Home & School Board, volunteers help to make possible all those "extras" that make St. Joseph School the great place that it is! These include special activities for students and families like Moms & Muffins, Halloween party, St. Nicholas Day treat, Secret Santa Shop & Pizza With Santa, our Catholic Schools Week Assembly, providing something special for St. Joseph Day, End of Year Activity, purchasing Bibles for 4th graders and Graduation Gifts for 8th grade students, Dads & Doughnuts, helping with the Spanish teacher's salary, and awarding two $500 Scholarships for Catholic High School. Special activities for teachers like dinner on Parent/Teacher Conference Nights and a Teacher & Staff Appreciation Luncheon, drinks for Home & School meetings, Birthday Recognition for Teachers & Staff, and End of Year Gift to School/Teachers are added nice touches H & S is glad to provide. Don't forget about other favorite events hosted by the Home & School Association . . . Fall Event (i.e. Holy Cow Event, Clam Bake), mid-Winter event (like the Gala, Night at the Races, or Chinese Auction), Easter Candy Sale, and Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast. Click here to learn more about St. Joseph School's Home & School Association.

Did You Know? . . .
Home & School's 2003/2004 gift to the school was two new computers for two classrooms, which now allows all grades to have up-to-date computers, plus the following additions for our School Library:
two round tables w/chairs, oval carpet for story hour, four new bookshelves, check-out desk, computer desk.
Home & School's 2004/2005 gift to the school is improvements made to the playground. Playground equipment from the Crestwood School District's former Hiram Elementary School was moved to our playground thanks to the volunteer crew from our parish and the Knights of Columbus. Home & School appreciates all our volunteers from the parish, school and community who helped with the project and looks forward to the completion of landscaping of the area and the adding of benches, volleyball nets, trash bins, and possibly other items.
Home & School's 2005/2006 gift to the school is to finish up improvements made to the playground. Addition include completion of landscaping of the area & the adding of benches, volleyball nets, trash bins, and installation of remaining items. Faculty and staff also received gift cards.
Home & School's 2006/2007 gift to the school is to grant some "wish list" items that faculty and staff have brainstormed as needs and dreams for the school including a variety of classroom items & books (given during Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week), TV/computer patch cords, and DVD/VCR combo units. In addition, donations and funds will be solicited to help fulfill these wishes. St. Joseph School was re-accredited by the State of Ohio (2007-2013) after completing the two-year OCSAA (Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association) Process and Home & School will fund the school's September 14 celebration with entertainment by Beacon Street, Performing Arts in Ministry.
