The National Eucharistic Revival is a three-year process sponsored by the U.S. Catholic Bishops to “inspire and prepare the People of God to be formed, healed, converted, united, and sent out to a hurting and hungry world through a renewed encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist – the source and summit of our Catholic faith”.
From Wednesday, July 17, 2024, through Sunday, July 21, Catholic faithful converged on the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis. Over 60,000 Catholics were present for this culmination of a 3-year long Eucharistic revival intended to renew the U.S. church’s understanding and love of the Eucharist. Across these several days there were many engaging, uplifting and motivating talks from well-known people such as Fr. Mike Schmitz, Jonathan Roumie, Bishop Barron, Chris Stefanick and many others. But beyond the words that were spoken, sung and prayed…Jesus was there. And we could literally feel Him present everywhere and in everyone. The experience is hard to explain in words, like when trying to describe the Grand Canyon or the giant Redwoods. But we’ll try . . . .
